ABOUT
Chinh Doan
Chinh’s curiosity for the world and journalism started when she moved to the United States from Vietnam at the age of four. Chinh’s father worked for The Oklahoman newspaper as a custodian and brought home scraps of newspapers every day. Chinh read the articles because she thought her father was a journalist. It was through journalism and television news that Chinh learned English and excelled in reading classes. Although she later learned her father was not a journalist, Chinh knew that with hard work and a passion to help others, she could become one. Chinh received her B.A. in broadcast journalism and minors in Spanish and International Studies from the University of Oklahoma, where she was named the “Outstanding Senior” of her college and gave the graduation speech. Chinh’s other passion is giving back to the community. She has been honored with awards such as Top Outstanding Young Americans, Ten Outstanding Young Omahans, Young Catholic Professionals Omaha Spirit Awards, and more.
